Gamers typically play in groups of 2 or 4. One gamer should guess a word from their teammate's description without using the word, similar to Charades, with the objective to think of several feasible answers within 30 seconds. And this has to be done without letting the description given contain the word itsself or a part of the word.
How to Play 30 Seconds Board Game
Objective:
Get your team’s token to the finish line by guessing words correctly within 30 seconds.
Setup:
- Teams: Divide players into two teams.
- Board: Place the board in the center, with each team choosing a token and placing it on the starting square.
- Cards: Shuffle the deck of cards, which have yellow and blue sides.
- Timer: Get the 30-second timer ready.
- Die: Have the special 30 Seconds die available for rolling.
Gameplay:
Roll the Die:
At the start of each round, the team rolls the special 30 Seconds die to determine the handicap.
The die has six sides with values of 0, 1, or 2.
Draw a Card:
The current player draws a card from the deck.
Each card has a yellow side and a blue side. The side you use depends on which square your team’s token is on.
Start the Timer:
Flip the 30-second timer to start the countdown.
Describe and Guess:
The player describes the words on the card without saying the words themselves.
The team tries to guess as many words as possible before the timer runs out.
Score Calculation:
Count the number of correct guesses.
Subtract the handicap (determined by the die roll) from the total correct answers.
This gives the team's score for that round.
Move the Token:
Move the team’s token forward by the number of squares equal to their score.
Opposing Team’s Turn:
The opposing team then takes their turn, following the same steps.
Winning:
Continue playing rounds until one team reaches the finish line or the game’s designated end point.
The team that reaches the finish line first, or has the most advanced position when the game ends, wins.
Enjoy the game, and may your team’s guesses be swift and accurate!
